Membership Renewal 2024

New Prices for 2024

New membership prices are detailed in the table below. These apply for all renewals from 1st April and new memberships purchased from 18th March.

Background to fee changes

The Club’s committees have agreed an increase to subscriptions due to the fact that our general costs are on the rise at an above inflation rate.

The Brookside and Holly Park agreements are currently with the lawyers. We anticipate that we will complete the transaction before Easter.

This will mean a 1st April start date. An additional tennis court will be available to members from that date.

We have, as has been previously notified, obtained planning permission for a major upgrade of the Brookside site. We plan to deliver Phase 1, three artificial clay, all weather courts with LED floodlighting over the course of Winter 2024/25.

Once we have completed Phase 1 we will look at the thorny issue of court 5. We have decided not to patch the court again as this is a short-term fix only and will make the ultimate solution more difficult to achieve. It is likely that this solution will involve a different surface than tarmacadam, which will necessitate the removal of the existing material. If finances allow, we will also consider upgrading the lighting on Court 5 to LED.

New arrangements offered

We are mindful of the fact that finances continue to be difficult for many so we have introduced the following:

  • The option to pause your membership for long term injury, temporary relocation or pregnancy. Memberships can be paused for a minimum period of 3 months up to a maximum of 9 months. The pause period will commence from the 1st of the month following notification.
  • A term time Off-Peak Junior membership (equivalent of £5 per month) for those attending courses for one term who do not require annual membership or court booking rights.
  • A term time Off-Peak Junior Inclusive membership (equivalent of £2.50 per month) for those attending courses for one term who do not require annual membership or court booking rights.

We are also continuing to offer

  • Annual memberships paid in 12 monthly instalments. The total fee is at a slightly increased fee over the annual membership paid in one instalment, but after one year of Club membership, this membership can be ended with 3 months’ notice.
  • Unwaged membership for members who are over 18 years and under the state pension age who are in receipt of benefits. (proof required).
  • Hardship fund available to help subsidise tennis opportunities for various juniors.
  • Junior memberships discounted by 20% for children of parents already a member (available on request).

  • Memberships paid annually are non-refundable.
  • All members with annually renewed memberships will be sent an email reminder 15 days before their membership renews.
  • At your annual renewal you can cancel your membership or change from annual payments to monthly payments.
  • Members changing age category will be automatically moved to the new membership at their renewal – you do not need to contact us for this to happen.
