Director of Tennis recruitment update
Update on recruitment of the Director of Tennis
We have been working hard to recruit a new Director of Tennis and wanted to give members an update on where we have got to with that process.
Applications closed on 15 June and we have received responses from 23 applicants. We had a very impressive response from a number of high calibre coaches. Applicants are from around the world (America, Spain, France, Serbia, Turkey and Italy) so the Committee now have a busy time ahead to shortlist these and notify candidates in time for the interviews.
A Selection Committee has been brough together to appoint a Director or Tennis who will deliver a high-quality and inclusive club programme that is up to date with LTA practices and health and safety standards and provides affordable social, competitive and coaching opportunities for all standards and ages, from beginner to the advanced player. Membership of the Selection Committee is: Liz Berryman, Sarah Burke, Miki Lentin, Nicky Wellfair, William Winstone and Chris Hirst (as non voting member).
Interviews will involve delivery of two on court coaching sessions, one to HPT juniors and one to adults. This will be followed by a 45 minute interview with the Selection Committee at which the coach will be asked to deliver a short presentation on their proposal. As part of the interview process interviewees will be asked to prepare a proposal on developing a particular aspect of the coaching programme as chosen by the Selection Committee.
Below are some key dates of this process:
- Closing date for applications was 15th June 2014
- Shortlist applicants will be notified by 28th June
- Interviews will be held in wc 7th July or 14th July
- DoT appointed and introduced to coaching team by 25th July
