Introducing our new Director of Tennis – Lucy Dean

On behalf of the Tennis and General committees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lucy Dean for the role of Director of Tennis at our Club.

Lucy is an accredited LTA level 5 coach with a few years of experience at Coolhurst as Head Coach for Juniors Tennis and Squash where she developed the programme from 200 to 650 kids and established satellite clubs with schools. In 2013 Lucy received the ‘Middlesex LTA Coach of the Year’ award and in 2017 she was appointed by Middlesex LTA as the ‘She Rallies Ambassador’ for the county, working closely with Judy Murray to get more girls and women involved in tennis. Since 2017, Lucy has been running her own business working with various clubs in North London. She is now looking forward to returning to a Club environment like ours.

With a history degree under her belt, Lucy lived abroad in Ghana and Egypt as well in the UK and spent time coaching in the USA and Germany while at university. A North-London tennis lover, who plays regularly for clubs in the Ladies and Mixed 1st teams (Premiership level).

Her skills and successful track record will help the Club building up membership, increase our junior tennis programme, improve adult tennis participation and, most critically, engage with our community by playing a lead role in building strong relationships with schools and the LTA.

Her style and personality are a great fit to our values at Highgate. I see this appointment as an important step for HTLTC and very much look forward to working with her.

Unfortunately, at the moment we are not in the position to organise an in-person meeting to introduce Lucy to members. However, Lucy has kindly recorded a quick hello to introduce herself:

We will arrange an evening at some point (hopefully soon!) where you can meet Lucy and join me in welcoming her to our Club.
