Sound Ball Tennis Dates

Sound Ball Tennis For Partially Sighted and Blind Players

The game is played with larger balls that make a noise when moving so that the players can hear. Once the ball stops moving the players can’t hear the noise to guide them so need sighted volunteers to pick them up, help call the lines etc. You often get the chance to play. We sometimes need walkers for the guide dogs too.

For further information on how the game is played see www.metroblindsport.org

Just to emphasise how valuable our support is here is an email from Roy, Metro’s chair, following the recent Islington tournament that some of you helped at:
On behalf of all the players and the club trustee’s thank you for all your help and support yesterday…….Without your time / Interest in Blind and Partially Sighted tennis we could not play this wonderful game. What a very professional job you all carried out with some of you having not seen the game before but you all adapted so well and made such a friendly enjoyable day for us all.”
Indoor at Islington Tennis Centre, Market Road, N7 9PL.  Please contact Linda Almond (almondall@aol.com) if you are able to help with a session or for more information.  Even offering for one session would be great.
