Sound Ball Tennis for Partially Sighted & Blind Players
Can you Help?
The game is played with larger foam balls that make a noise when moving so that the players can hear. Once the ball stops moving the players can’t hear the noise to guide them so they need sighted volunteers to pick the balls up and help call the lines, etc. You often get the chance to play.
Juniors are welcome and it is a perfect volunteer opportunity for older children doing community volunteering / Duke of Edinburgh etc. Non-tennis players can help with picking up balls and walking the guide dogs.
For further information on how the game is played see www.metroblindsport.org
Sessions are 6pm to 8pm indoors at Islington Tennis Centre, Market Road, N7 9PL on:
Wednesdays 14, 28 September, 12, 26 October, 9, 23 (tbc) November.
