Soundball Tennis at Highgate Sunday 14th August 4-7pm

On Sunday 14th August 4-7pm we have some Metro Blind Tennis players coming to play social soundball tennis on the school courts and it would be great to have some Highgate members play/help too.

Blind Tennis is played on a standard tennis court using a junior tennis racket and an adapted sponge ball that makes a noise when it bounces. The area of play used is smaller and is marked out with tactile lines taped on the court which the players feel with their feet.

The standard rules of tennis apply with just a few modifications: if you’re totally blind you’re allowed three bounces, those with partial sight are allowed two.
The BBC ‘Get Inspired’ site shows what it means to the players to play. You can see two of our players, Reece and Naqi, in action here.
It’s a great opportunity to see blind/VI tennis in action. If you would like to play/help do contact Linda on: laalmond2018@gmail.com
