Courts 3 and 4 resurfacing – access restrictions
Dear Members,
The resurfacing of Courts 3 and 4 has been brought forward by a couple of weeks and the work will start at 8am on Monday 10th October. Assuming reasonable weather, the work will take up to 2 weeks. Thereafter, temporary lines will be in place and given the low ambient temperature at this time of the year, the courts can be played on. Painting of the courts to bring them in line with our other courts will take place early Spring.
During these works, the contractor is insisting that the road from the corner by Georgians LTC to the bollards by Montenotte access road is closed due to the movement of heavy plant and hot tar up the access road and onto the tennis courts.
Access to the Club for pedestrians and cars will be from Park Road only during the period of these works and there will be no access to Court 5. Montenotti Road access will be CLOSED. The school courts will be accessible but please be aware of the dangers crossing the road.
Access to the Club will be via the gate at the corner of the cricket pitch. You will need to walk up the side of the cricket pitch.
Every effort will be made to complete these works as soon as is feasible. We appreciate the inconvenience caused by the access restrictions but hopefully the benefit of having the 4 main courts in good shape will justify the short term inconveneince
