Doubles Ladder – New entries now being accepted

The doubles ladder is now welcoming new pairs to get stuck in on January 1st, to build on the success of the last two months in which:

  • 16 matches were played
  • 4 more challenges outstanding
  • Only 4 out of 27 pairs have not yet been active
  • Overall good activity without taking up too much court space

The committee have agreed to continue to run this after Christmas until mid April and to make the following changes:

  • New pairs can join once a month and go live at the beginning of the month
  • New pairs will not have to join at the bottom but will be placed a few places below the best estimate of their level (Nicky W, Richard R, and myself to take this onerous decision)
  • Middlesex league summer team selections can be influenced (not determined) by ladder results, alongside trials, last season’s results and normal selection process
  • The doubles ladder will stop during the summer season of external matches and restart in September

Don’t worry too much about over commitment if you’re hesitating as you won’t have to play more than 1 match every 3 weeks, unless you want to.
