Upcoming Tennis Activities and Key Dates – April 2021

Hope you are well and looking forward to finally going back to some tennis!

We have had to make hard choices on which activities to continue and which one to stop due to this 3 months lockdown.

We have a fantastic selection of tennis activities and tournaments in the months to come.
Please find below a summary on what will be available and when:

TEAMS

Team matches will be back this spring and summer and we are currently looking for team players. Please email Sally and Sasha if you would like to play into the teams.

Tuesday Top Team Training will continue 7-9pm and we will be adding Team Training for Men’s Teams 4-6 and Womens Teams 2-5 as well at the same time with 2 more club coaches and 4 extra courts. The sessions will be rotated between courts and coaches. If you are unsure to which session you should be booking into, please email Sally and Sasha.

In addition to Team training, we are also running Team Trials for the players that were not part of a team previously. Men’s Team Trials is on Wednesday 7th April at 7pm. Women’s Team Trials is on Monday 12th April at 7pm.

SOCIAL 

3 social sessions: Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm – Saturdays from 2pm to 4.30pm – Sundays from 2pm to 4.30pm

Social would restart from the 17th April allowing people to slowly get back into it and ensuring plenty of courts to book in our first weeks back.

Please book on openplay to guarantee you will be able to play for that social session. Once we are out of this covid situation, we will look into more spontaneous social play.

BEGINNER SOCIAL

We are also running a coach-led beginner social session on Friday’s evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

LADDERS

The current ladder session will be extended until the end of April. Please stay tuned for more news

ADULT COACHING

Adult drop-in group coaching will be back 29th March. Please book through openplay, sessions will be available a week in advance. Please note that the weekday daytime sessions will not run when the Easter Camps are ongoing (6/4-16/4).

BROOKSIDE

The 2021 brookside tournament will take place from Monday 10th May to Sunday 6th June. Richard and Kevin would need some volunteers to help us run our very own Grand Slam event. Please email Kevin at kevin.balon@gmail.com. More information soon.

A massive thank you to Rob and Uli Hartel and the many volunteers for creating such fantastic courts with brand new Italian clay, enjoy the courts straight away from the 29th March.

WINTER LEAGUES

Unfortunately, the lockdown interruption was too long for us to be able to carry on the leagues this year, it is a great shame. Congratulations to Maggie, Richard (Rogers) and Neil that were on top of the leaderboards!

VOLUNTEERS

The club has many upcoming projects and improvements coming up in the year, our wonderful committee has been and is currently working hard but is quite stretched, could you please let us know if you would be ready to help the club by helping the club for a few hours, help needed ranges from running a week-end tournament, a full tournament, gardening, painting, project managing! Please contact one of our tennis committee member if/how you would be ready to help.
