Help Us Complete the Brookside Project!

As many of you know, the much-needed renovation of our Brookside courts is well underway and the courts are now being played on.

This long-awaited project will transform our facilities and benefit us all.

The first, and largest, phase of the project is the delivery three brand new artificial clay courts, playable during daylight hours, plus the acquisition of a carpet court, to be known as Brookside 4, from Georgians. Unlike the old Brookside courts, the new artificial clay surfaces and Brookside 4 are playable all year round and just ten minutes after rain, which will make a significant difference to court availability.

To date, the cost of refurbishing the three Brookside courts and the acquisition of the fourth Georgians court has been met by the club without any additional contributions from members.

The second phase of the project principally involves installing floodlights on all four Brookside courts, plus building a number of other enhancements to the Brookside site such as bike racks, a viewing area, and a proper path to Brookside 4 to replace the temporary one.

However to fully realise this second phase, we need your help as there is a funding shortfall. We are setting a bold fundraising target of £100,000 by November 2025. We are exploring a range of funding options including applying for two loans from the LTA and MTA (Middlesex Tennis Association) and, as the first stage of fundraising, have launched a JustGiving campaign.

A successful fundraising campaign will enable us to complete the second phase much sooner than otherwise, finishing all the works at the site and making all four Brookside courts playable all year round and into the evenings too.

So here’s what your contributions will help us achieve:

Install floodlights – This will extend playing time by allowing games to continue well into the evening.

Grow Our Community: With limited court capacity, we have recently had to introduce a waiting list. The extra playing time that floodlights will bring will help us consider when and how to expand our membership .

Enhance Playing Conditions: The new artificial clay courts are gentler on joints and provide members with a choice of surfaces, improving both playability and enjoyment.

Accessibility for All: We’re committed to making the new courts fully accessible, ensuring an inclusive environment for players and spectators alike.
